2007
Ghatam Udupa had a successful
Europe tour with his team Layatharanga
in May 2007. The eventful tour included a
grand performance at the fifth International
Percussion Festival at Krakow, Poland and
several lecture demonstrations.

The
festival also featured great musicians with
the likes –
David Garibaldi (USA) - the drummer of the
legendary "Tower of Power" group
who has been recording and performing with
a whole pleiad of American rock and jazz stars.
Mohamed Rasouli's Trio (Iran) - experts of
the Persian instruments with the master Bahman
Rajabi.
"The Drummers" Group (Switzerland)
- the group of eight drummers lead by one
of the most prominent drummers - a philosopher
of the European avant-garde - Pierre Favre.
Among others, the following belong to the
group: Fredy Studer, Lucas Niggli, Marcus
Lautenburg, and the leaders of Swiss percussion
scene.
"Canto Battuto" duo (Switzerland/France)
- original percussion-vocal duo that performs
contemporary music composed for this group.
Hakim Ludin( Afganistan) a drummer performing
with Paulo Conte, this time together with
the Polish Kreszendo "superb group"
Georges Paczynski Trio from France - the group
that consists of musicians belonging to three
different generations of the French jazz scene.
